Expression of Interest
As many of you are aware from my report last year, it is important that we put in place turf fundraising so that we are prepared in the coming years for its replacement. The board has decided that this should be completely separate from the clubs normal fundraising activity and that all funds should be directed into the turf account.
The board is seeking a club member to co-ordinate and organise a group of people to brainstorm and research appropriate fundraising activities, and to identify people within the club who could then manage these activities. This could be the same group or other people. The outcome required is for these recommendations to be put to the board’s February and March meetings, for their consideration.
A replacement turf would be approximately $500,000. Presently we have approximately $50,000 in the turf fund. There are grants that we can apply for, however, we need to be able to demonstrate the clubs ability to raise funds, and support a facility such as that which we have.
