The boys continued their unbeaten season with a well deserved 2 -2 draw with WASPS, also previously unbeaten this season.
With Terri and Felix out this week, the team welcomed Maryleanne for her first start to the season.
The team started brightly with Jimmy and Dylan linking well to create early shooting chances, but some great saves and wayward shorts kept the score at 0-0.
However WASPS were far stronger that the previous opposition and the Rocky defence had plenty of work to do, with Tian at fullback and Brandon in goal leading the way.
After 10 minutes, sustained Rocky pressure led to a great WASPS save from Oliver only for the goal to be scored by Ethan. The lead was short lived, as WASPS had a series of short corners, the third of which was converted to level the score. This inspired WASPS to continue their pressure and they were rewarded with a second goal 2 minutes later from a fierce shot.
The Rockingham players, knew they were as good as their rivals and set about the task of levelling the score, from the outset, with Samuel, finding Jimmy on the right wing, who released Dylan at the top of the D only for his snap shot to fly past the post. The boys mounted attack after attack, with Slade and Samuel E involved in all areas. The equaliser finally came moments before half time with Jimmy converting a short corner, much to the delight of the boys and assembled spectators.
In the second half, Rocky continued to press to secure the win as did WASPS, but great goalkeeping from both teams and some excellent defending kept the scoreline level. Well done to all the players and bring on Bunbury…..
